Chris Riddell has illustrated many children's books, including Hans Christian Andersen's The Swan's Stories, translated by Brian Alderson, which was shortlisted for the Kurt Maschler Award. In 1999 he was Highly Commended for the Kate Greenaway Medal for Castle Diary. Chris is also a cartoonist for The Observer.
