Author description

J. L. Price is a former Reader in History at the University of Hull, and is one of the leading British authorities on the history of the Dutch Republic. He is the author of a number of books and articles including Culture and Society in the Dutch Republic During the Seventeenth Century (1974), The Dutch Republic in the Seventeenth Century (1998) and Dutch Society, 1588-1712 (2000).
